Site Availability

For weekends, there is less availability than for weekdays.  Note that all weekends in May as well as Labor Day weekend are pre-booked annually with family camps, however, some weekdays in May are usually open.  Due to summer camp scheduling, there is no availability in June, July and August.  The last week of August may be an exception depending on a given year.  If you have a date or time of year in mind, please contact us and we’ll let you know our updated availability!

If you would like to schedule a tour, please let us know and we’ll be happy to schedule a time to show you around.  If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to ask.  Contact Melissa at melissa@campaugusta.org

FAQs

Does Camp Augusta provide food services?
Yes and No.  Depending on the time of year you are looking to book, we may have staff available to provide food service.  Out food service staff do not normally work year round however many of them live locally and would love the opportunity to work with you on a menu of your choice provided it does not conflict with their year-round schedules.  The cost to you would be the cost of food and hiring the staff, that’s it.  Camp Augusta does not look to gain income from your arrangement.  If this is of interest to you, please inquire.

Can we use your kitchen?
Of course!  There is an additional damage/cleaning deposit collected for use of the kitchen, however, this is returned to you when you leave and all is tidy.

Can we bring our own caterer?
Of course!   They are welcome to come see the kitchen at their own convenience if they’d like.  Contact us to make an appointment.  The kitchen damage/cleaning deposit will be in effect.  A few caterers we suggest are:
Conscious Catering – 530-268-0404 (ask for Mary Marlet)
A Family Affair – 530-274-0805
Flour Garden Bakery – 530-272-2043
In the Kitchen with Wendy Van Wagner – (530) 478-0669
Briar Patch Co-op – (530) 272-5333

Where can we store our food?
We’ve got an industrial size walk-in fridge and a chest freezer as well as a smaller stand up fridge and freezer.  Depending on the time of year (# of staff we have on site) we may need the use of a small corner for our food   We’ve also got shelves you can use for dry goods.  There is an ice maker that can produce 300-395lbs of ice per day.

Does Camp Augusta have tables and chairs we can use?
Yes.  We’ve got 12 round tables (5 foot in diameter), 6 smaller rectangle tables (6 feet long), 2 longer rectangle tables (8 feet long), over 120 soft seated chairs, and 18 picnic tables.  Exact numbers may vary from time to time depending on wear and tear.

Does Camp Augusta have linens and dishes we can use?
We do not have linens but recommend rentals from a local company (Nevada County Laundry and Linen Supply, 530-265-3413) as they have provided quality service for us and other guests in the past.

We have plenty of mis-matching summer camp style dishes you are welcome to use if you wish.  Alternatively, we recommend rentals from a local company (SRC Party supplies, 530-272-2266, http://www.srcparty.com/) as they have provided quality service for us and other guests in the past.

Will Camp Augusta provide programming to wedding and other site rental groups?
Yes!  If you are interested in participating in activities or having your guests (adults and/or children) participate in activities during your stay, let us know and we can work out the details of cost, what programs are available/requested, etc.  We live to provide quality programming to our guests.  Please visit our activities page to see a full listing of what we offer.

Is there a damage/cleaning deposit needed?
Upon arrival you are asked to provide a $500 cash deposit for site use plus an additional $200 cash deposit if you plan on using our kitchen.  When you leave, these deposits are returned to you provided that you leave the site as you found it.

Do we need to have our own event insurance?
Yes, unless Camp Augusta is providing a completely staffed event for your group, including program, food, etc.  You may purchase very reasonable event insurance from http://theeventhelper.com.  We receive no kickbacks from them nor do we have any affiliation, and past users have appreciated their service.  If your experience is otherwise, we’d like to know.
