Hello Again!  This is Catherine!

I am thrilled to be joining you for another unforgettable summer!  This last year has found me in Canada spending quality time with dinosaurs and calling a tent my home before fleeing to the warmer climes of southeast Asia for a different set of adventures.  Between Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, and Vietnam I learned to ride an elephant, was awestruck by the natural world around me, tried my hand cooking some of the delicious food I enjoyed there, and marveled at buildings I had only ever dreamed of setting eyes on.  Who knows what sparks of magic from my journeys will make their way to camp this summer...

In the 25 years I have been alive I have fallen on my head quite a bit and this probably spurred my incredible interest in the brain.  I even majored in neuroscience at Oberlin college, somewhat by accident, I must confess.  I took all kinds of classes that interested me, there just happened to be a lot in the neuro department (and a good thing too, I once saved the entire department from almost certain destruction.  But that's a story for a different time). Other than the brain I studied far away places and long ago times, tiny molecules, art, rocks and human beings.  When not studying I found time to dance (a great passion of mine) and discovered circus.  I spent my summers touring the east coast and mid west in a colorful bus and my spare moments during the year manipulating objects of all kinds and coordinating a 200 person circus of varied and dazzling people. 

While you are probably not in a circus right now, I just bet that you are a dazzling human being!  Which is why I cannot wait to meet you for the first time, or catch up after a jam-packed year apart.  I will see you up the pods or down the zipline, we'll make weird noises together or dress in silly outfits and give the neighbors something to talk about, you will sneak up on me and smear oatmeal in my hair or I will tag you in one of the fantastic evening programs this year.  Let's make things, burn things, and shoot stuff with arrows.   It's going to be amazing.
