Citizens of Augusta, greetings and humble salutations-
My Name is Wachira Richard, and I’m excited to meet you
This will be my first page at Camp Augusta and I look forward to an unfolding experience of fun, soul reflecting, family, and sharing.
I hail from Kenya with a strong value for openness and a deep appreciation for the Arts. I like new challenges and value learning opportunities, especially when they are experiential. As a child some of the memories I still remember are falling out of trees (I got better at climbing things though :-)), rolling down muddy slopes without brakes on my bike (write-off), and running across, into and out of, old deserted buildings. Growing up, I liked to build things and put things together, from carton carts to home guitars, as far as I could chase my imagination. One of my greatest passions is arts and music. I paint, create mosaics, write poetry, songs, and play piano and guitar when I find myself, well, with myself :-).
My early years, and all through high school, I wanted to map out a focused and purposeful life, better known as a career. I still do, but in between then and now, I found out that careers, as well as goals and objectives help to define purpose.  Still, they are only a means and never an end. Dreams are what we live for . . . dreams because they bring our senses all together; they paint our ambitions on life’s canvas; they drive our strengths to touch the skies and beyond and open our eyes to a future we cannot see.
In chasing my dreams I have studied and worked to be a music producer, because here, I feel everyday is a chance to again be infinitely creative . . . to run with it. Outside of this, I find myself outside.  Camping, hiking and backpacking, climbing, outdoor initiatives and games, team building, and facilitating have quickly grown to define me. I also have come to love photography, more specifically the part of it that captures and brings out the beautiful things we often look past or perhaps hardly notice. Aside from that, I like to share ideas and challenge concepts; I think it gets us thinking, and appreciating the simple things in life.
This summer I look forward to yet another dream, yet another ocean of possibility, and yet another experience filled with mhnnn-ahhaa moments and pockets of laughter.
Citizens of Augusta, the time-Is-nOw!  :-)
