Shaggy

What do you get when you have a Shaggy and cut off all his hair? A non-shaggy Shaggy! But I’m still Shaggy and I’m stiiiill here!

This is my second year working as the fix-all, build-all, burn-all man at Camp Augusta! I spent my childhood running around and exploring the forest that I grew up in. I hiked every hill, climbed every tree, and played around every creek. Today, my experiences with nature have driven me to one goal: to change the way others view the natural world and all it has to offer, and to teach others to conserve and appreciate what is left of it.

If you catch me at the right time, you’ll be able to pull my “Random Chain” and see what happens. A couple campers are already wise to this, and they can tell you just how much fun it can be to chase me around and see how many responses I can come up with… if you can catch me!

This year, I am very excited to jump back into CTF challenges, to try and bring whatever crazy Cabin Activity ideas you have to life in wood and metal, to once again take on the project of the Phoenix for Fourth of July (I HAVE SOME BIG, BIGGER, PLANS FOR IT THIS YEAR MUAHAHAHAHA!!!),  see all your excited faces, and spit watermelon seeds at them!

When I’m not working at camp or on school work, I’m usually outside hiking, fishing, camping, rock climbing, and so on. I’m also an amateur Geologist; my rock collection has grown from cool-looking rocks I found as a kid to a whole range of precious stones, minerals, and even “glow-in-the-dark” rocks! I use them as teaching tools at science camp or just to show off to curious kids! Finally, if I’m not out enjoying nature and I’ve got some free time, I’m probably painting it on canvas. There’s a lot to me, and I can’t wait to share it with all the new people I’m going to meet during my second summer at Camp Augusta!
