Near our Maidu Village, just past the lake that Rock Creek runs through, is an area we call “Hot Rocks.” It is named such due to the amount of full sun it gets throughout the day. With the flat and spreading granite formations, Rock Creek runs shallow here briefly, creating a space where campers can explore water life, slide around, pop over to the creek hammocks, and enjoy some cool pockets of water to hang out in while just chatting.
